Monica touched so many lives ! She was a generous and loving friend. She loved her family and her "girls" filled her heart with pride and joy and was thrilled to add a great nephew, too ! All of us at JHIS felt like we were members of her extended family. She shared our personal triumphs and sorrows and was always a source of strength and compassion . She was the " voice" of JHIS to each of the many patients she spoke with weekly and I know how important she was to their journey. Monica had a special gift for listening to people and we are all blessed to have been a part of her life. Thank you, Monica, for always encouraging us to listen to our " better" angels. Love, Sally and Ernie Kakas.

Monica was always nice to new employees from their very first day. She was a guiding light to us to learn how to best take care of our patients. When I was out on medical leave she called, and sent a card to see how I was recovering. Any time I was in the office, she always was friendly and we had little chats about former employees or long term patients. I missed talking to her after she went out on medical leave and was always hoping she would recover and return soon. She was a wonderful person and cared a lot about everyone she knew.

How well I remember the Kirkley family, Paul, Elsie, Paul Jr. and Monica! Monica and I were schoolmates at St. Helena's ---we played at each other's homes...and went through High School together. Monica was kind, funny and I am certain very good at what she did. Will do my best to attend...So very sorry for your loss--a loss to all of us who knew Monica. She is gone way too soon.
With love, Sharon (Kelly) Baker

Monica & I worked together at Jefferson for over a decade. I was the start of both of our careers in healthcare. Monica was a hard working, dedicated individual who brought empathy and a great sense of humor to what , at times, a hard job. I would run into her over the years on Samson Street and around Jefferson and always get a warm hug. With this message I am sending Monica a last hug.
