Dear Joan and Family,
It is with love and great respect that I reflect on my 60 year friendship with Walt. He was my neighbor and father of my dearest friend Mary Ann. He was also a long time and dear friend of my mother and father, which of course elevated him to parent status in my eyes and made it very difficult to call him anything other than Mr. Faber.
He has witnessed my life from age six to sixty-six. All of the good times and bad and delivered his wise advice in ways that left me feeling heard not judged. He was like a father to me. A great many of the happy memories in my life are inhabited by the Fabers. Walt’s passing is deeply felt by myself and my family. His was a life well lived and he will always be loved.
